About us

At 1K Brown Books, we are passionate about fostering a love for reading and improving literacy among brown, black, and underrepresented children aged newborn to 6 years old. We understand the transformative power of books and the impact they can have on shaping young minds.

Our initiative was founded with the goal of addressing the lack of representation in children’s literature. We strive to provide a platform that showcases books specifically written for brown and black children, authored by brown or black authors. By doing so, we aim to create a more inclusive and equitable reading experience for children of all backgrounds.

Through partnerships with authors, publishers, educators, and community organizations, we curate a diverse collection of books that celebrate cultural diversity, promote positive self-identity, and inspire young readers.
